Jaguar Cars Limited is a British luxury car manufacturer, with headquarters in Browns Lane, Coventry, England. It was founded as SS Cars Ltd in 1922 and changed its name to Jaguar in 1945. The company has been owned by Ford since 1990. The name Felis onca came into use in 1935 and also the company Felis onca Cars Ltd. in 1945. Originally, the corporate launched as Swallow Sidecar Company that was supported on Gregorian calendar month four, 1922 by William Walmsley (b. 1891) and William Lyons (b. 1901). Walmsley and Lyons, 2 friends from port, England, started their company by building sidecars that were later connected to restored motorcycles.
